Shot Clock Clarity
There has been some mentions of teams wishing to play the shot clock and teams being against this,
this is a reminder that this is not optional if one team chooses to apply the clock.
the shot clock can be applied at any time during the match, either from the start, after match 4 or after match 10.

Rule 4d. A time limit rule has been introduced as per International Rules for taking shots in Singles and Pairs league matches and competitions alike.
This rule can be ignored if both captains agree or applied if one captain insists.
If this rule is ignored, and one or both captains feel the match will not finish the time limit rule can be applied.
Doubles Rule Clarity
Talking is allowed on your first visit to the table only
You must not talk between each ball potted (except after the break)
A player is deemed ‘at the table’ when they have touched the playing surface by either:
* getting ready to play their shot
* placing the white ball from a foul

It is not acceptable to continue to talk after these actions;
the first offence is a warning, the second offence in the same match is loss of frame
Each Team has it’s own web page where you can see all fixtures
and rankings for your team and players
It is with sad news that Bruce Shulver passed away recently
Bruce has been in and around the FSPL for 25 years playing out of the Sun in the Sands for most of that time, when I played in the Sun with Bruce it was some of the best pool nights we had as Bruce was always smiling and making jokes with everyone on both teams. More importantly was how Bruce helped people become better players, teaching them small tricks on how to improve their match play, teaching the art of the fudge which I still see today, everyone who has played out the Sun learnt something from Bruce, either to know to how to play a developing safety or to use a double tuck when required, even if just to annoy your opponent!
Bruce played alongside some of the FSPL’s greatest players and i’m sure they will all attribute some of their success to the tips he gave
Bruce has won many trophies during his time, from the second division to the Premiership and Team KO, he has also won the Cap & Secs trophy twice, most recently this summer with an impressive 4-0 win in the final, this was the last time I saw Bruce and I am so glad I was there to witness his last exploits in the FSPL
He was not only a great player but a good man and even better friend to everyone,
he never let his illnesses get him down or hold him back
Rest in Peace Bruce, you will be dearly missed by everyone
