Break Rules
There appears to be some confusion over the break and when the Ref should talk following a foul from the break.
The Ref does not need to talk during the match except when a foul occurs or to advise on touching/frozen balls.
From the break if the white goes in-off the referee should call Foul; ball in hand from baulk/behind the line.
From the break if the white goes off the table the referee should call Foul; ball in hand.
These are the IRO Refs calling procedures, which can be found here:
5. Foul break
CALL: Foul break, re-rack the balls and ask the incoming player whether they wish to break
or turnover the break to their opponent. Offer the cue ball to the incoming player.
6a. Cue ball potted (legal break)
CALL: Foul, ball in hand from baulk, retrieve and offer the cue ball to the incoming player.
6b. Cue ball leaves playing surface (legal break)
CALL: Foul, ball in hand, retrieve and offer the cue ball to the incoming player.
The FSPL will be looking into the possibility of running two Singles comps simultaneously; one for all players and one for Divisions 1 and 2.
The main Singles competition will be open to everyone, the winner is guaranteed a spot at the National Finals
The Division 1 and 2 Singles competition will only be open to players in those divisions
A player may only enter one Singles competition
